The very first question that popped into my head concerning this book was, where will Grant take us next? After wrapping up several threads in the last book, Grant has the opportunity to open up a whole new vista to explore in this book. After having read the blurb to this book, I had a feeling that I would love it. And I did!

I am a sucker for archaeologist heroines. I honestly don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the research and the history that goes with it, that feeling of discovering something so vast and beyond yourself that intrigues me. Or maybe it’s having that hope that something is bigger out there. Whatever it is, I love it and I ended up loving Dr. Veronica Reid a lot. She is smart, spunky and a little feisty if I say so myself. Her first meeting with Arran was hilarious and boy, does she know how to keep the immortal warrior in his place! Right from that scene, I knew that I would be falling headlong in love with this book.

Arran is much like the other warriors in the series, but I thought Arran to be a little more playful with Reid than I expected. It was a nice change and I really loved how their relationship developed.

Arran’s big task is to find the spell to bind the god within him, but upon meeting Reid, he finds that she is also a Druid who uses her abilities to help her unearth ancient artifacts. Again, the part of me fascinated with old things jitters with glee and excitement.

As the threats and obstacles hit them at every angle, readers are thrown into a whirlwind of activity that is sure to have them flipping the pages quickly as I was. Grant really impressed me with this book.

We see a lot of our favorite characters, as we always do with this series, but there is the introduction of new, exciting things that I think readers will appreciate. I definitely enjoyed the way Grant was able to add a freshness to the series. I wonder what Jason Wallace has planned and will it be enough to defeat the warriors? I’m excited to read MIDNIGHT’S CAPTIVE to find out!

MIDNIGHT’S KISS is a game changer – one that will set the rest of the series in motion. With high emotions and even bigger threats, MIDNIGHT’S KISS just may be my favorite of the series so far.
